About The Role

Daylight is looking for a Finance Director to join us in a part-time/flexible hours capacity, supporting the leadership team with financial oversight, governance and strategic guidance.

We’re looking for someone with experience in creative or digital agency finance management, with a strong knowledge of Pegasus, who can bring insight and confidence to how we manage growth and accelerate business outcomes. 

You will be supported by our long-standing Finance Manager, who leads the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, job management and monthly processing. Your focus will be on financial leadership alongside the CEO and board. 

The role is part-time, and hours can be flexible. We’re currently looking for a minimum of 1 day a week to work alongside our Finance Manager.

Requirements of the role: 

  • Provide strategic financial insights to the CEO and the leadership team to support key business decision-making
  • Oversee financial management, budgeting and forecasting to ensure clarity on cash flow and profitability 
  • Review monthly accounts, prepared by the Finance Manager and provide variance analysis with recommendations 
  • Ensure Pegasus is fully leveraged for financial reporting, project management and job costing
  • Maintain financial governance, compliance and tax obligations with appropriate risk management 
  • Evaluate opportunities, investments and client relationships through a financial lens 
  • Evaluating financial tools and identifying opportunities to improve effectiveness 
  • Deep understanding of industry trends and value-based pricing models 
  • Provide guidance and mentoring for the Finance Manager as needed

Who are we looking for?

  • Significant experience in financial management at Director or Senior Finance Manager level 
  • Background in creative, digital or agency sector with an understanding of project/job-based financial models 
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems (Pegasus) and ability to ensure fit-for-purpose reporting and processes
  • Proven ability to work at both strategic and oversight levels, while enabling a team member to run day-to-day operations 
  • Ability to communicate and distil financial information into clear, actionable insights for leadership and board 
  • Collaborative and pragmatic, with a strong understanding of creative and digital business dynamics
