To highlight this compounding issue, Spark Foundation needed a way to educate the people and businesses of Aotearoa on both the problem and the steps toward a solution.
We teamed up with The Spark Foundation to create The Forest of Opportunity: an educational platform using the metaphor of our native ngahere (forest) to explain the depths of these challenges and the knock-on effects they’ll have on future generations if we don’t take action now.
Brought to life via our in-house illustration and animation departments, the launch film and accompanying suite of content featured over 200,000 brush strokes, frame-by-frame hand-drawn illustration and a whole taxonomy of native flora and fauna.

We first approached the team at Daylight, with a challenge to bring the concept of digital equity to life. We wanted to use story-telling that would enable Kiwis to truly understand how digital exclusion can impact an individual’s future, and why digital equity is an issue we should all care about. The team at Daylight made the creative process so easy, and despite our constantly changing brief, and moving timelines, they worked collaboratively with us to co-create a video with a uniquely Kiwi design, that beautifully illustrates the importance of digital inclusion for a more equitable and connected Aotearoa.
